A Tarot deck based Social horror ttrpg: De Profundis
Hello, I need some feedback about a project I am working on.
De Profundis is a tabletop roleplaying game of personal and social horror.
Set in the present day, amidst the twisted streets of sprawling metropolises and the shadows cast by skyscrapers, there exists an occult conspiracy woven by ancient esoteric orders. These mysterious cults worship the three Mothers—powerful witches who manipulate society through potent hexes and rituals as old as time itself.
Your character has witnessed something horrific, something that hails from the Deep. Their life has been irrevocably changed, and there is no turning back. Do they still believe in their principles? Will they survive the trauma of this new awareness?
De Profundis is a roleplaying game inspired by Italian giallo films with supernatural themes, as well as movies centered on occultism, secret sects, and ancient rituals, that use a Tarot deck for action resolutions.
Here is a list of inspirations:
- Suspiria (1977)
- Suspiria (2018)
- Inferno (1980)
- Mother of Tears (2007)
- The Wicker Man (1973)
- Hereditary
- Get Out
- The VVitch
- The Society
- Halloween III: Season of the Witch
- Kill List
- Weapons

**Feedback Wanted**
In particolar the main action resolution mechanic and the role of the face cards in a tarot deck.
Right now I am debating with my self if use an enstablished action resolution mechanic like "His Majesty the Worm" or stick with mine.
If you have also some others advices, tips and feedback you are welcome to share it.
