I was going through a road slowly and came near a red signal which had 25s more to go. I always tried to follow them, so I stopped and waited. At 20s a bike broke the signal and went on its way. I was thinking in my mind about what can go wrong with him for following the rules and staying for 20s. At 18s…..boom. This mini crane hit me from behind. My bike fell down the hitting force made me jerk forward and my ring finger hit the clutch and the clutch broke and i stayed standing with a blank mind. There was lot of pain in my finger, I got a hold of myself and confronted the driver who hit me.
He told me since that bike broke the signal I thought there was no one in front of me and went right ahead.

Then a guy in a scooter came close, he witnessed the entire accident and told me to file a case immediately. The crane driver accepted his fault, said his insurance will cover it and ready for settlement and requested to let him go. I accepted his apology and said him that I will call him in the morning. I took his number, pictures of his license and number plate.
I was both furious and shocked since it was my first ever accident and it was not even my fault, I was just trying to follow the rules, waiting at a signal.
Went to hospital today morning, doctor told me it was a hairline fracture and not to worry. It will take some time to heal.
My bike’s tail, indicators and number plate are broken. Clutch lever broke and engine guard has a dent.
