Hey y'all,

My wife and I have a reasonably sizeable backyard pond (~3000 gal) with plants but no fish. It is under some trees so the skimmer box needs pretty regular clean out for leaves and seeds and the like.

We are going away for about two weeks and want to know what folks recommend for that kind of time. We don't want the skimmer to clog up and starve the pump but also seems like a bad idea to just let the water stagnate for two weeks with stuff falling into it. Is there some way to block off the skimmer so it won't ingest debris but can still collect water for circulation? Or is it ok to let it sit for a couple weeks?
