I’m fine with the RPG series, had a blast in Origins, Odyssey and even Valhalla (besides it being a tad too lenghty and filled with pointless filler) but Shadows feels so insanely directionless to the player.

You complete the intro and first few quests and then you get tons of different quests in different directions that all progress the story their own way with side quests tossed in between. On top of that, regions and targets are level gated as well so the «freedom» to do the story in any order isn’t really there, so why make it non-linear in the first place?

Just give us Origins style linear story progression again, the main story shouldn’t feel like a check-list like Shadows did.

Edit: Seems some people are misunderstanding my post. I don’t want the RPG games to stop, I actually like them - when they have linear stories like Origins.

Hexe is coming but when Shadows & Hexe was announced, they implied there will be 2 different style of AC games going forward - RPG series and classic AC series. Both can have linear stories and do well in their own regard.
