Bought a scooter (~1.13L) on merchant EMI (POS swipe) using Diners Black Metal.

HDFC replied saying:

"Transactions converted into EMI are not eligible for annual spend-based waiver."

Now confused:

Does merchant EMI count toward ₹8L?

Or all EMI (including POS) is excluded?

Anyone seen EMI counted in actual fee waiver?
