My Team Fuel Inconsistencies

In Season 4 of My Team and the fuel is just all over the place.

Australia - Started the race 10.7 laps overfuelled, wasn't enough, had to fuel save the last 10-15 laps.
China - Based off how much I was losing in the Sprint, I started the Race almost 10 laps overfuelled, was a safety car which helped but only ended the race 1.5 laps over.
Japan - Only had to start 2 laps overfuelled and would of been fine just starting 1 lap over.
Bahrain - Started 1.5 laps over, needed to fuel save for 15 laps in the rain
Saudi - Had to start 10 laps over

The inconsistency is crazy, it impacts every race, no idea what is going on. In comparison to a mate of mine who at the same stage of the career mode underfuels every race and slowly gains it back.

I had a few race at the back end of Season 3 where I didn't gain or lose any fuel during the race and then all of a sudden I'm back to needing to start 10 laps over like I had done during the early parts of Season 3 and almost all of Season 2.

My Team Car Powertrain Upgrades

I'm into my 4th season of My Team and have just about fully maxed out my car besides some supplier upgrades I don't have access to.

I remember watching a Youtuber do a My Team career at the start of the F1 25 game cycle and had to stop half way through the 2nd season because a certain Powertrain upgrade severely compromised his straight line speed and the car just became uncompetitive.

I'm wondering if something similar has happened to me.
I race on 107 difficulty and have gradually improved my car over the 4 seasons. For comparison, when my car was ranked 4th on the development chart I was able to qualify consistently in the top 5 and then would lose time throughout the race as my pace over one lap was much more competitive.

Now that I am the best car on the grid, I am sometimes qualifying as low as 8th, which just shouldn't happen. I'm driving the same if not better than I was when my car wasn't as good and the other cars aren't significantly better or worse than before either.

I am wondering whether a similar issue might be in the game and an upgrade I have put on the car has made it slower and there is no way to undo it. I was an absolute rocketship down the straights in my 2nd season, now in my 4th, I'm really struggling.

Has anyone else had similar issues?

My Team 2nd Driver Component Penalty

Is it a known bug that you give your 2nd driver (or whoever you aren't driving as) new components in my team and they never take a grid penalty. I've just given Albon new everything for Abu Dhabi but it was a dead rubber race and I wanted to start both drivers at the back for a bit of fun. I'm starting P22, he's starting P2.

Is this a bug or has the game just overturned my decision to give the new components?

Just going to be a long post of some bugs/issues I've noticed in the game and wondering if other people have had these problems.
Also want to get some clarification on a couple situations if possible.

First thing I wanted to double check was the tyre allocation for the race in a normal weekend (no sprint).
I often go with the 'Balanced' allocation, which gives me 4 sets of soft tyres for full qualifying. If possible, I like to have a fresh set of softs for the race and I was under the impression that the set of softs that are returned no matter what are the ones originally allocated for Q3. I then saw someone say that the set that gets returned is just the most worn, so which one is it?

The next thing I wanted to ask about was fuel. In my first season, every race was reasonably normal for fuel, start about a lap over and then adjust in the race as needed. Going into my second season, some races I started needing to overfuel by 6 laps and even then would I still have to lift and coast at times. Other races it was still as normal, however, now in my third season, some races are super demanding on fuel, Spa I had to start 5 laps over and it was only just enough but then other races which I had to severely overfuel for in the 2nd season, I was then gaining fuel throughout the race and would be losing multiple seconds of race time and ending the race with an extra 5 laps of fuel because it just wouldn't burn despite an identical driving style to the season prior.

Onto a couple of issues/bugs, earlier I gave one of my drivers in My Team a new component outside of the allocated amount in every category for a race and then he only got a 5-place grid penalty? Has this happened to anyone else.

Also in Two-player career, which I know can be buggy, half way through a race my friend and I both had a message at the bottom of the screen that we left the session even though we were still driving. We noticed it had disconnected us when it said that and we were then in two different sessions, both retired from session and then got multiple messages about the save not loading because the save files don't match up? Eventually it went away but has anyone experienced this?

Finally, also in Two-player career mode, whether this is a One-shot qualifying bug or just in general, at the start of one race none of the AI's moved off the line for the formation lap until we restarted the session and other times, even though I qualified in P10, the game started me in P1 and never did anything about it. Similar thing happened to the 2nd player, qualified in P7, was moved up to P1 and I was moved from P4 down to P8.

Apologies for the length and messiness of the post but if anyone could clarify those couple queries that would be great. Also wondering if anyone else has experienced those bugs that would be great also, thanks.

Just ran into an issue in the last few days - any time I want to change the movable parts on one of my drivers, the screen freezes. Always results in having to close the application, which isn't the biggest deal, just very annoying.

I drive as Bortoleto and it always freezes for him, Albon my other driver, I have no issues when clicking on his car to move parts. Whether this issue is related to whatever is driver is listed on the left side of the screen or the driver I last drove as I'm not quite sure.

Anyone else run into this issue? If so, how did you fix it or is there no fix, potentially deleting the application and re-installing?

Thanks.

Would love someone to explain to me a little more about some fuel issues on F1 25.

I'm quite an aggressive driver in terms of force on the throttle so I always have to overfuel for races. In the first season of my current my team career I had no issues with fuel, just the standard 0.7-1.0 extra laps of fuel and got through with no problems.

Keeping all this in mind, I have low-fuel mode on hard so I seriously can not afford to go under the threshold or I'm in big trouble.

Going into the 2nd season of my career, the game all of a sudden wanted me to start races with anywhere between 5-9 laps of extra fuel depending on the circuit. Even though I was overfuelling this much, the actual kilogram amounts of fuel seemed to be less than the previous season.

So even though I was putting in a few kilograms of fuel less, it was an extra 5 laps compared to the previous season. Given my driving style I had no choice but to trust the game and heavily overfuel and as a result, some races I'd still manage to have to do a severe amount of saving yet other tracks I'd end the race with an extra 3-4 laps of fuel, costing me a lot of race time.

Those issues persisted the entire 2nd season. Going into the 3rd season, it's almost reverted back to how it was in the 1st season, only having to overfuel by a couple laps and the kilograms of fuel lining up more with what track I'm at.

If someone could explain why and how this is happening, whether it's a something through R&D or just game issues that would be great. I know how to lift and coast efficiently but the inconsistencies in overfuel/underfuel and then various kilos of fuel not correlating to eachother is really confusing.

All of this makes even less sense to me when I see people starting races under fuelled and despite driving similar to myself and not making any obvious attempts to conserve yet their fuel is slowing increasing and then eventually finish the race with enough fuel whilst having saved time by underfuelling in the first place.

Apologies for the rambling, just trying to get all my thoughts and experiences out there. If anyone has a simple explanation for why these things are happening please let me know.

I'm hoping this post helps at least one person not make the same mistake as me. It's embarrassing.

Currently doing a My Team career and just started Season 3 today. 100% practice, qualifying and race distance - I find it makes the experience the most enjoyable.

I play on controller and have the AI difficulty on 107, it's just on my limit and I prefer the realism of really having to grind out results over being able to win championships in the 2nd season.

This mistake I made is related to the cost cap, now obviously the cost cap for each season is $135m. It's impossible to get close to it in the 1st season starting as a new team with no resources and so I only spent the $70m or so.

Start of Season 2, of course it is once again $135m. With all the money you are granted at the end of any season with all the sponsorship goals being met, I obviously went and splashed quite a lot in the first half of the season on facility improvements and development.

The first time I checked how I was looking with staying under the Cost Cap was at about the half way point and I noticed on the chart I was on pace to well exceed it, so over the course of the rest of the season, I tried to spend as little as possible, unfortunately still going over.

This obviously meant that I couldn't develop any of the parts that were changing with the new regulations for my 3rd season and so I went from a high mid-field car to the worst car by a mile over one off-season.

Now when I went into the season summary at the end of the 2nd season, it said I was $62m under budget despite being over the chart. It was only then I realised that every single time I had checked my cost cap during the 2nd season, which was over the course of multiple weeks given the 100% race distance and a full-length season, not once did I notice the visual glitch that the bottom left of the cost cap chart started at the $70m that I spent in the first season.

So when I thought I had gone over the $135m cap, I had really only spent $65m and was actually on track to stay well under by the half way point without even realising.

Somehow I did not notice this a single time and now I have lost so much progress I was making in the first 2 seasons. I had just made a marquee signing in Albon and was driving as Bortoleto myself and thought I had a real chance of finishing top 3 in the constructors in this upcoming season.

Now, I'll be spending half the season just getting back into points contention, which thankfully will be easier with the truck loads of resources I have saved up that I didn't spend last season believing I had gone over the cap.

Hope this hasn't happened to anyone else and hopefully this novel I've just typed up helps someone from doing the same thing at some point because it is so embarrassing.
