hey y’all

I’m undiagnosed asd (brother and father are diagnosed with asd) and also struggle with adhd and other general sensory issues. I’ve learned that I often suffer from burn out because my 100% is more equivalent to a neurotypical person’s 150-200% and i have yet to learn to regulate it

I’m in my early 20’s and got an office job ~6 months ago in a place i generally enjoy. it has been a lot of work going from a fast paced retail and a theme park type environment to sitting and not moving all day. Fortunately my workplace is adjacent with blue collar workers so they’re very lax on headphones and phone usage

To get to the point, I have been greatly struggling with my workplace ethic. I keep trying to pace my work a lot slower to keep from burn out, but in exchange I use that time on my cellphone which is a little too distracting for filling in that gap. I feel like i am not doing my job to the best of my abilities even though my managers and co-workers are happy with my work and progress in this company. in general I am insecure so i feel like that has bled into how i see my work ethic. For some reason I feel like since i’m not giving 100% at all times i am a bad employee even though i know logically that is not the truth.

Does anyone else struggle with this in office environments? how can I improve my work ethic without increasing chances of burnout?
