Took appart the Hermes 3000, any advice on cleaning?

Hey guys, update on the machine i got last weekend, ive taken it apart and it looks pretty good though very dusty. I bought some white spirit, i have rags and q-tips and some tooth picks, do you have any advices for me before i get to work? Any big no-nos? (Beside not using wd and not oiling it, ive read the texts and got that part lol)

Hello! New here, never owned a typewriter before but had been looking for one for a few months. Found this one for 3 euros at a garage sale this morning (case was stuck shut, previous owner didnt recall ever owning a key, one of my partners gently pried it open with a screwdriver and it didnt seem like the lock was engaged or even that it works so not sure what the problem was there).

It is in working condition (was able to write with it), presented with a few issues though, namely the ribbon didnt seem to move (i noticed because using it eventually created a hole in said ribbon), i removed the top and saw it wasnt wrapped at all around the right wheel thingy. Also a metal thing at the end of the ribbon fell off when i touched it and im not sure how to put it back right now (imma read the manual, maybe it'll say?). Also the keys will get stuck at times (and the spacebar), i fix it by hitting the arrows key but it keeps happening somehow.

I figured id ask here if y'all have ressources on how to care for it? Also if the issues i talked about are easy fix or if they require more skills than a beginner should take on by himself and i should ask a professional for help? (Id rather learn to do it myself but ill bow to your expertise.)

It's my first time owning a typewriter and i dont wanna damage it by not caring for it properly.

Many thanks for any help or advice or ressources you can point me to!

Jolan
