MS of pharmaceutical sciences biomembrane sciences track or MS cosmetic science at university of cincinnati

Hello,

Can anyone share their experiences with this program? How much was it, do you think it was worth it, or what did you do with the degree afterwards? Im trying to understand what this program is vs a pharmD. If the total cost is the same for both, what's the advantage of this vs pharmD? Im looking into the costs especially as an international student. Thank you!

RMDs- are they really that significant or does it depend?

Im decades away from retirement but I wanted to know if i should be worrying about this. Right now i have 244k in traditional (ira+tsp). Hopefully it'll keep growing. Idk if ill retire with federal service. Im in 24% tax bracket. I keep being told to convert as much of this now compared to later (30 yo). I dont think ill be working in retirement so my tax bracket should be lower? At the same time if I end up with 500k+ by that age i dont want to have to deal with taxes from rmds at that age. So is the hype I guess of converting to 100% Roth really that important?

ElI5: how are neurotransmitter levels measured (serotonin, dopamine, acetylcholine, etc)?

I get blood tests for rbc, wbc, renal function tests, liver. But how do we know that, for example, depression is because of low serotonin and develop ssris/snris or dopamine agonists? Can these be measured in cerebral spinal fluid? Or is it more invasive?

I get that leaving money in the bank is a waste. I have all the possible retirement accounts maxed out. But here's what i dont get. Ppl keep saying paying more taxes is worth it cuz it means you're making more money. But what if you can't afford to pay the taxes in the capital gains? Case in point I make 145k. I have a joint brokerage with my dad that he contributes to with 700k. More money than I will ever have in my lifetime. He pays someone to grow this money. This quarter alone he paid 50k on gains. I dont have that kind of money. Thruout the year he's probably paid 100k. My understanding is every time you sell, you pay taxes. So if i sell to pay for the cost of growing this account, it'll be more taxes on top of capital gain taxes? For him he can cover these expenses probably with 2 months salary. Im already trying to save up to max Roth ira plus will start converting some of my traditional tsp plus extra miscellaneous taxes every tax season. I inreased my employers tax withholding. Should i withhold even more? And reduce my paycheck?

Im not asking for specific portfolios and i know no one will reveal their secrets. I just wanna know on general. My Roth ira is a mix of schwab total market (swtsx) plus qqqm & vxus. Hsa is vti/vxus. Tsp csi. So most of the time i meet s&p yield or better. My question is how does one go reach the higher benchmarks like dow Jones? Does one double down on individual companies like Nvidia or increase more shares of bigger global funds?

Hopefully this is not breaking the rules. I wanted to know of the ramifications of taking a loan out on someone else's behalf. My gf wants to apply as an international student for a master's degree. Tuition for 2 years will be roughly 80-100k and we're trying to save up for at least one year since the school requires proof of funds at least for the first year. But what about the second year? Would i, if possible, be able to take a loan out for her? She can't do Fafsa and im trying to see if as an international student she can take a loan directly from the school. I checked Mpower and the school is not listed. I already have 100k student loan debt myself from grad school plus an auto loan currently so would this affect anything if I take on extra loans? Tia!

Can someone verify/disprove if this is a thing? My gf says that in cambodia whenever you enter a shop of any type, you have to buy something or else it's seen as disrespectful and a waste of the staff member's time to just walk away. Im Vietnamese American and we do this all the time when we went shopping in VN especially if they won't haggle or just dont care for anything we see. Especially big thing here in America haha. So im just curious if this is a rule in Cambodian shopping culture?

So i know for savings it's prioritize hysa emergency fund, then contribute 401 to employer match, Roth ira then back to maxing 401. What about debt? Been spending more lately cuz travel for ldr and new finances. So I have ~6k in cc debt and I pay the minimum due every month. Also have 106k student loans @ 6.5% with minimum monthly amt of 550 that covers interest and extra. Car loan 0% $833/month for next 2 years. Monthly expenses, excluding travel, is 3k. I make 3600/paycheck each month bi-weekly post tax but trying to save 5k/month (miscellaneous taxes like maxing Roth ira, building emergency fund, leisure spending, and extra payments towards student loans. Aiming for 3k/month). That's where I run dry and am struggling. Im looking for a second job but not so easy with my schedule. Any suggestions? Tia!

I'll be honest im struggling. Working for IHS in middle of nowhere is not where I imagine id be. High pay is not enough to compensate for mental health or lack of pretty much anything around. I've worked ca state system, County system, and now feds. Obviously location is key but just wondering. For those who have worked/currently working these settings and/or have retired from them, which did you find the best? I know private pays much more but job security is a big fear of mine. So id like to stay with the govt entity of some type. In my 30s, maybe work 20 more years, and if need be go contract afterwards. Can anyone chime in? I enjoyed the workflow of county. It was challenging me enough and kept me busy. State, at least where I worked, was mind-numbingly boring.

I've been a pharmacist for about 8 years and dont have bcps.. Mostly ill admit cuz im lazy but also cuz I dont see a reason to get one. Recent federal civilian who works with USPHS officers and for them they get a pay grade or promotion grade if they get it. But to pay $755 (accp prep material for non-members) or $650 (ASHP non-members) plus the exam fee doesn't seem worth it at least for me and other federal employees. My supervisor said PMAP benefit but if you're already getting a passing score, does it really matter? I realize for specialty pharmacists like ID or onco or peds jobs mostly require you to have that for minimum competency. I'm genuinely curious. I know many retail pharmacists are getting bcps to leave retail and go to hospital.

Recently I've been traveling more recently due to being in ldr. Went to Malaysia and got my hands on some durian wine. Missed an opportunity to get lotus liquor in vn. While in cambodia I found a company that makes pepper infused rum. My coworker went to France and brought me back a 500ml bottle of absinthe (as opposed to the 60ml bottle here in the US). Any other destinations i should go to explore exotic liquors?

😮‍💨 I think like many of you im completely burnt out. I did the 3+3 program in 2017, got licensed 2018 cuz I failed the class associated with APPES and have been working since Feb 2018. My shortest period of unemployment i guess if you call it that was 3 days (after i left a job I signed up with rxrelief to do on call gigs). My longest period of not working was a month while waiting for onboarding of my current job. I wish I could just take a whole year off to soul search but how would I pay my student loans or car payment?
