After many years of work I’m so excited to say my first book was published this week.

It’s a deep dive into some of the best horror games and the people behind them, with interviews including John Romero (DOOM), Ken Levine (BioShock), Marc Laidlaw (Half-Life) and Maggie Robertson (Resident Evil). Romero even ended up writing the foreword, which is so surreal.

The discussions in this book are honest and quite emotional, as we talk about success, failure, and the intimate stories behind the games.

The book also features a great cover designed by artist Ray Dillon.

In a weird twist of fate, my first book published the same day as Saros.

It includes a chapter all about Returnal and how important it was to Housemarque’s future, with in-depth interviews given by creative director Gregory Louden and writer Eevi Korhonen.

The book is all about action horror games, with each chapter led by an interview. John Romero, Ken Levine, Marc Laidlaw and Maggie Robertson are among those featured. The honesty of everyone blew me away - this book is as much about the people behind the games as the games themselves.

I figured the Returnal community might be interested to hear about it! The jacket design also features an AWESOME ode to Returnal on the back, drawn by the brilliant Ray Dillon.

Bit of a crazy one that still doesn’t feel real. I’m a writer and my first book has been published today. It’s all about action horror games and features interviews with a bunch of iconic names - including the first chapter, with John!

John’s enthusiasm and honesty really sets the tone for some pretty personal stories throughout the rest of the book, which features chapters with Ken Levine, Marc Laidlaw, Maggie Robertson and many others.

It’s a dream come true for me. To round it off, John agreed to write the foreword, in which he says some immensely nice things about my work.

I figured people here might get a kick out of an in-depth, sit down chat with the great man himself. Oh, and the book features a killer jacket designed by comic book artist Ray Dillon.
