Business name not on invoice for business account

Business name not on invoice for business account

I created a US Mobile business account with an EIN here: https://www.usmobile.com/business and I intended to use it for business. My business got approved and all good. The business account is basically the same as a personal one, with two more business unlimited plans and bulk tools.

However, on the invoice they generated, it does not have a business name. I think this is an essential piece of a business account for record-keeping, legal, and compliance for business. When I asked support, they just told me to change my “first and last name” to the business name. That’s so strange. Usually, when I receive a bill for business, it has both the personal’s legal name and the business name.

I know most people are not business. But I feel this is a must have feature for business accounts.

US Mobile on iPad: a solid budget standalone tablet plan

I have been using US Mobile on my iPad for the past 2 months. For newer eSIM-only iPads, the data plan options are more limited. For example, it is no longer possible to use Visible on an eSIM-only iPad, even though it used to work with a physical SIM.

I was using Verizon postpaid and then moved to Visible. Visible does not support my iPad, so I had to find an affordable standalone tablet plan elsewhere.

TL;DR: I ended up using US Mobile Unlimited Starter on Dark Star with Data Waster mode enabled. It gives me unlimited deprioritized AT&T data and 4K streaming for only $25/month. I have not found another tablet plan that can do that. The only annoying part is that I have to turn Data Waster mode back on every 30 days.

I researched other MVNOs, prepaid, and postpaid plans. They either do not officially support tablets, or they charge a very high price for tablet service if you do not also have a phone plan with them, often over $50/month. I did find a publicly available $15/month tablet plan on T-Mobile Business (postpaid) that supports eSIM iPads. But their UI is awful, it is not tax-inclusive, it appears to charge an activation fee, and they would not approve me online because they said I did not have enough credit, even though my credit score is near 800. That plan also only streams in SD, which is a horrible resolution on a big-screen iPad.

US Mobile is one of the few MVNOs that officially support tablets. Although they do not have dedicated tablet plans, they officially allow you to add any phone plan to an iPad. The same plan can behave differently on an iPhone and on an iPad. For example, AT&T works out of the box on iPhone, but not on iPad. I am sharing my findings in case they are helpful.

I tried all three networks on US Mobile, and I tried both the Pooled plan and the Unlimited Starter plan.

Which network to choose

TL;DR: Surprisingly, all three networks support eSIM-only iPads. The IMEI is recognized. Even though AT&T and Verizon have IMEI whitelisting, the system still accepts my iPad. I ended up choosing AT&T because of its unlimited data and no video throttling.

For people who do not know US Mobile well, they are an MVNO that sells service on Verizon (Warp), AT&T (Dark Star), and T-Mobile (Light Speed).

Profiles and hotspot

  • AT&T: ⚠️ No hotspot, likely due to an OEM limitation. Also, without installing the APN profile, the iPad can show signal bars and LTE/5G/5G+, but there is no actual internet access. After installing the APN profile, it works. The 5G+ icon is supported.
  • Verizon: ✅ Fully supported. No APN profile needed, and hotspot works. The 5G UW icon is supported.
  • T-Mobile: ⚠️ with caveat. To use hotspot, need to manually set APN wholesale to work. Their official APN profile doesn't enable hotspot. Also, there is no 5G UC icon.

If hotspot is a must-have, consider adding multi-network on Warp ($10/month or $90/year).

5G Standalone

❌ No support yet on any of the three networks. My iPad is an M4 iPad Pro released in 2024. As of 2026, all three major carriers are rolling out 5G SA, and T-Mobile has the most 5G SA coverage. I imagine the lack of 5G SA affects T-Mobile the most. However, I can still get very good download speeds, 500+ Mbps, without 5G SA on all three networks. Missing 5G SA is more likely to hurt latency and upload speed.

Streaming

On iPad, the streaming throttling policy is the same as on phones.

  • Verizon: ⚠️ 2 Mbps / 480p by default, 4 Mbps / 720p with Data Waster mode enabled
  • AT&T: ✅ 8 Mbps / 1080p by default, uncapped / 4K with Data Waster mode enabled
  • T-Mobile: ✅ 1.5 Mbps / 480p by default, uncapped / 4K with Data Waster mode enabled

So if you want the highest streaming quality, which matters more on a larger tablet screen, Verizon is basically a no-go unless you use a VPN.

One very annoying thing: Data Waster mode turns itself off every 30 days, even on the annual plan. So you should set a reminder to turn it back on. I saw people bring up this issue a year ago, and the CEO commented that they were working on it. I still do not think it is coming anytime soon. Also, “Data Waster” is just a stupid name. Other carriers call this something like HD streaming. And no other carrier I know of makes you manually re-enable it every 30 days.

I have heard that Unlimited Premium on AT&T has 4K streaming always enabled. However, support told me otherwise.

Which plan to choose

Pooled Plan

✅ For light data users, the 2GB Pooled plan ($10/month) is a great starting point. I recommend it over the Light plan ($10/month or $96/year). Why?

  • A monthly plan gives you more flexibility than a yearly plan.
  • If you have more than one device, each additional device is only $8/month.
  • Topping up data is cheaper than on the Light plan, and it supports auto top-ups up to 10 times per month.

Your total usage can effectively range from 2GB to 22GB per month, with each 2GB top-up costing $4. That makes it a true pay-as-you-go, set-it-and-forget-it option. You never pay for more than you use. However, if you regularly use 20GB+, move to the next plan.

Unlimited Starter

✅ This is also a great plan. With unlimited data on AT&T and 70GB on T-Mobile or Verizon, it should fit heavy daily use. My iPhone is my main device, so Unlimited Starter is enough for my iPad data needs.

Unlimited Premium

❌ I would not recommend this plan for iPad. On Verizon, the included watch plan does not make sense for an iPad. On the other networks, hotspot does not work, so the extra hotspot data also does not matter.

This plan only makes sense if you want higher QCI on Verizon or AT&T, need international roaming, or truly need 70GB+ on a non-AT&T networ
