THREE POUNDS: ORIGINS — Book Two of the Three Pounds Trilogy

Military Fiction | Based on True Events | Available on Amazon & Kindle Unlimited

Five boys. Five bags. One bus.

Before the boots. Before the blood oath. Before the three pounds.

Origins is the story of five men before they became the unit that would define — and destroy — their lives. Each chapter follows one of them in the days before they shipped out. Each one is carrying something he can't put down.

A farm kid in Iowa who just learned a secret about his family that made everything he believed taste like nothing.

A kid from Miami wearing his dead brother's watch, biting down on a bullet casing from the funeral because it's the only thing that keeps his hands still.

An eighteen-year-old from the hollows of Kentucky who can strip a diesel engine blind but can't stop counting the number on a hospital bill that's going to kill his sister.

A Texan with a dead grandfather's compass, a dog he just left at a gate, and a father whose name opens every door except the one he wants to walk through.

A Croatian teenager with three pins in his shoulder, a folder sealed in plastic bags, and a lie about a bicycle that got him across a border and into a new life.

They don't know each other yet. In twelve hours they'll be on the same bus. Nobody will talk for the first thirty miles.

I wrote this because I was one of the five. The men in this trilogy are based on people I served with. I'm the only one still here. This book is how they got to that bus — and everything they left behind when it pulled away.

Origins is the second book in the Three Pounds Trilogy. Book One (Three Pounds) is also available on Amazon and KU.
