Hi everyone. I’m currently an accounting associate with 1 year experience in industry and 2 years of experience in public accounting at a mid-sized firm outside Chicago. I am actively trying to get into big 4 (networking, applying, etc.). I have the long-term goal to move to the NYC metro area for family reasons, but I have a few questions:

  1. Should I aim to get an offer at Big 4 in the Chicago area and then, eventually, transfer to NYC with big 4 experience under my belt? How doable is that?

  2. How hard is it to get into big 4, realistically, for someone with some experience, but graduated from non-target school and did not have an internship with any big 4? I’m worried I will be filter out of campus-level because of my graduation date (Dec 2024) + some experience, but also I am not at a senior level yet, so struggling to find job opportunities for my current level.

I’d appreciate any insights/advice, thanks in advance!
