I have a 10 month old cat who’s high energy. My flatmate is really attached to him which I genuinely don’t mind, I wanted him to become comfortable with her/other people and I encourage her to play with him. Which she does do. He does nap on her sometimes, goes to her room with his toy etc.
The issue is she constantly asks to feed his main meals. Originally she asked “can I feed him sometimes?” which I took to mean occasionally and said yes to, but now it’s become a daily occurrence of her asking me if she can feed him. She already does one meal a few times a week.
We used to give him more treats and he was definitely more interactive with her then, but I had to cut treats out because he stopped eating his main meals properly. Since then she seems more focused on feeding his actual meals instead.
I think part of why it annoys me is that I’ve only had him for 3 months and I’d rather keep his actual care routine consistent with me. I don’t mind them bonding naturally at all, I just don’t like feeding becoming this constant discussion/thing every day.
Am I being unreasonable?
