Hi all,
I am looking for a used car to buy here in Europe. While I have a few models shortlisted, all of them come with a set of cons and therefore I am in analysis paralysis. I would appreciate your suggestions!
Main criteria/information:
Ideally under 25k eur, slightly flexible.
Expected milegae per year: up to 20k km
Petrol or hybrid
2 adults and expected baby in the future, perhaps 2, so should accommodate at least one rear facing child seat, stroller in the back, etc.
Reliable, comfortable for 194cm driver
Should handle heavy snow, bad roads and occassional forest drive throughout all seasons
I am hoping to buy and keep the car for at least 5 years with more or less regular maintenance, no major repair jobs
Options considered so far:
Mazda CX-5: love it, except for lack of space, bad visibility, driver legs hitting center console.
Subaru Outback: love the space inside, capability, sadly a dull engine (2.5 only available in Europe) and a CVT.
Subaru Forester: similiar to the Outback, wagon over SUV is preferred.
Lexus RX: quite a lot of money for a fairly old and high mileage car, feels outdated despite the reputation.
Honda CRV: hate the looks, CVT
Volvo v60/v90 CC: high mileage in the price range, reliability concerns
VW passat alltrack/ Skoda Superb Scout: long term reliability and bad weather/terrain handling concerns
Toyota RAV4 5th gen: terrible sound insulation, limited choices in the price range (high mileage mostly)
Majority of my concerns are coming from online research and reviews, I have driven Mazda CX-5 and Toyota RAV4, so the impressions are real.
I hope some of my concerns can be proven wrong by the owners and if I missed any models that meet my criteria - let me know.
Thanks for your input!
