I got my braces on in January (my second time with braces, first being when I was 11, now I am 34), to correct a deep bite, as well as as address spacing issues. As you can see from my before picture, I had large spaces between my front teeth and my lateral incisors. I was recently told by my orthodontist that they will likely not be able to address the spacing completely because of the size of my lateral incisors being too small. I was not informed of this at my consultation, nor was I informed of this early on in my treatment. One of my orthodontists (there are two at my ortho office) originally suggested veneers or composite, which I absolutely want to avoid, due to the fact that it would be at least another $2000 on top of what I’m already paying for my orthodontic treatment, as well as the fact that I whiten my teeth frequently and do not want to be dealing with unnatural material that will not whiten and age with my teeth. I was also told that the spaces could possibly be hidden behind other teeth, though I was informed that that could affect my bite due to the fact that my canines are currently in the right position. Has anyone else dealt with this? Second picture is current.
