I started the estradiol 0.05 patch about 6 weeks ago. First 2 applications my skin was fine, but by the 3rd application my skin has become red, itchy, irritated where the patch was placed. I take an antihistamine daily, switched applications sites with each patch and now, after speaking with my doc, spray my skin with Flonase, let air dry then apply the patch. This trick only helped a little, 1 day before the next application, I started feeling the itch and burn again. This past week I tried a different brand thinking it might be the adhesive and my reaction was worst than with my previous brand.

I asked my doc if there are any other routes of administration of estrogen to try and she said yes there are pills and creams but she does not recommend as they are not absorbed into the body as effectively or without high risk side effects

Has anyone tried other estrogen methods and has seen the same benefits as the patch ?

Any tips/tricks to help my skin from the reaction to the adhesive of the patch.

Is early 30s too early to experience perimenopause ? And to start treatment. Experiencing hot flashes, headache with aura, waking up at 3am and going to pee, lower libido, excessive weight gain with minimal change to diet/exercise to indicate wt gain, itchy eyes/skin, vertigo, digestive issues, irritation and anxiety( meds not working, making symptoms worse), period is 28-30 days and heavy/normal5-7 day. Labs for DM2 an thyroid are “normal” and no other indication for diabetes. Full hormone labs will be done soon. HELP!! ( for my wife. I am 10 years older and started HRT and have seen a full 180 change)
