I have a 95lb giant schnoodle. He tore his ACL in his left leg, and we had TPLO surgery or September 25th, 2025. He had some immediate swelling complications post surgery and ended up getting MRSP in one of the TOLO screw holes. In December of 2025 we had plate removal surgery because no antibiotics were treating the open MRSP wound. , The vet did another culture, and my dog immediately went on Rifampin and Augmentin for 21 days following the plate removal surgery. He also ended up tearing his right ACL the morning of his plate removal surgery in December. We allowed time for the left leg to heal, and the infection seeming went away. He had TPLO surgery on the right leg in February of 2026 (Luckily we’ve had no issues with the right leg.) Later in February the MRSP reappeared in the left leg where the infection initially was. We did another round of Rifampin and Augmentin for 21 days and the infection seemed to go away. Now we are in May an infection site has reappeared and he has an open wound again the left leg. I’m at a loss of what to do. Does this mean that the infection is in the bone? What steps do we take next? I will see my vet tomorrow I’m just at a loss of what to do
