Timothy McVeigh (OKC Bomber) U.S. Army Engineer Sapper Leader Course?
Good Evening historians!
I am looking for some information about Timothy McVeigh and his background.
Reason I am asking. I am an Army Engineer. During a specific course, they talk to us about different terrorist attacks in our nation. I very vividly remember them talking about the OKC bombing. They explain how Timothy McVeigh went to Sapper school and graduated high in his class.
Many of my buddies , peers and mentors also remember receiving this SAME information/ brief during their times at this same course. Their times being different months, years & instructors, yet same knowledge being taught.
However! This information does not seem to be supported via any other source. I’ve searched all over Google, Reddit, Fort Leonard Wood (where sapper school is) museum records. Actual sapper school records are not public source. Plus it would have been late 80s/early 90s, so not sure if there is even a record.
I feel like I’m going insane. Unsure if maybe records were scrubbed because the school house wouldn’t want to be associated with him & his horrific crimes. The documentaries don’t discuss it either.
Please help if anyone knows anything!
