Inoue vs Nakatani was just this weekend, arguably the biggest fight in bantamweight and Japanese boxing history, with a successful sale of 50K+ seats at the Tokyo Dome. Two P4P level fighters, both in their prime, a highly anticipated match up for years now.

That had me wondering, does anyone maybe older recall any fights like this back then with the same or similiar amount of hype, specifically in the lower weight classes? I came across Donaire vs Montiel (brutal KO), and heard one of the commentators say something along the lines of "the two best bantamweights in the world." Would that be a fight at the Inoue vs Nakatani level? I feel like a lot of big fights are just forgotten with time, so I wanted to ask that.
