Hi! I’m in esthetician school right now and I’m really loving it! One concern I have for when we start waxing each other is that I have Hidradenitis Suppurativa (it’s not a hygiene issue that’s a myth. I have an autoimmune condition) on my armpits and I’m really embarrassed about it/actively hide it. I’ve never waxed it (I usually shave which I know isn’t great for it but I don’t want hair on my armpits personally) and have heard mixed responses about whether waxing makes it better or worse. I wanted to let my teacher know in advance (in private) as again I’m embarrassed. On the other hand I know there are a lot of embarrassing things that come up during esthetician school and it’s good to learn about anyways. Would it be good for my classmates to practice waxing skin with Hidradenitis suppurativa? I know I should talk to my teacher about all of this but I’m really anxious/shy in general about my H S.
