My little baby asked me this today, and I had no real answer. I just told him, "Fires don't usually start in the bathroom, but it does happen sometimes. I don't know why there is no fire alarm in the bathroom, son."
It makes sense. There's one in every bedroom to alert sleeping people, as well as the one adjacent to (but not directly inside of) the kitchen. I never thought about why the fire alarms are where they are or where they are not.
