I play path of exile, the game that inspired the demonic pacts tree, and I have a habit of playing a single build in a league in that game, rather than running a league starter and respeccing to a different build later.

So I did the same thing here. I planned out my build to be able to do all the demonic pact tasks I needed to do, and chose my pacts in the order that would let me do them reasonably efficiently without getting trapped into not being able to do the next pact task.

I chose the regions Wilderness -> Desert -> Kandarin, wanting to rush some early ToA, and have fun with the king's barrage and quadrant. Knowing now how fast culling spree made slayer, I probably would've done Kandarin 2nd and desert 3rd. I only really ended up running a few 500s before unlocking kandarin to get the 1 tick trident for warden p2 mage-weak phase.

The 3rd image in the album shows the order that I chose my pacts. The 4th image shows part of my early plans for getting pact points. I continued this plan through about 25 points, making sure I'd always have the tools to get the next point I planned for. I tried to max out melee early, knowing that it would do a lot of work at many early varlamore bosses (amoxli, huey, moons), wilderness bosses (crazy arch, vetion, spindel, artio), and would be viable in every room at ToA (especially kephri, baba, warden p1/p2). Then I rushed for 1 tick trident to give me a very strong 2nd style in ToA and for some bosses that were weak points for melee (scorpia, warden p2, thermy, echo thermy). After that, and having seen the KBD crossbow used to great effect by others in my early ToA runs, I rushed down the crossbow tree. I thought I would need a crossbow to farm echo KBD and KQ, but blindbag with all the double hit weapons steamrolled them through all their phases. Finally, I spent my last few points getting sustain to help with some of the harder content in the game.

If I had to change something about my demonic pact order, I probably would've left the ranged tree with just the basics of crossbow done and rushed to the water mage capstone for the sustain earlier- I didn't get the water capstone until my 38th point. Oops. When I got to some of the tasks that would've wanted sustain (doom, colosseum, inferno, leagues special challenge), I mostly had to rely on the flask of fervour t8 relic. To be fair, it did do a ton of work. I still haven't done colosseum or inferno in the main game.

TL;DR
It can be fun (and fast) to respec pact builds to steamroll certain specific content, but if you want to be able to truly do anything, with only your skill as the limit, this is a fun build to work with. I feel like I learned a lot about Doom, Awakened Leviathan/Vardorvis, and Colosseum running this build, since I only had flask to sustain and keep me alive through mistakes.

I'll see you out there while I'm using my one build of the league to push to dragon trophy. Enjoy the rest of the league, exiles.
