Looking for a SNES Game From My Childhood Memories

Hello everyone. I’m a player from Taiwan, and I’m trying to find a SNES game from my childhood memories. I’m hoping some knowledgeable gamers here might be able to help!
Since this was translated into English using AI, I apologize if some parts sound unnatural or unclear.

From what I remember, it was a side-scrolling action game with movement somewhat similar to Golden Axe. However, it wasn’t really a traditional beat ’em up. There were only a few enemies on screen at a time, and I don’t remember any visible health bars or UI elements.

The stages felt more like a side-scrolling adventure game where you could move in and out of areas. I vaguely remember some sections scrolling from right to left as well.

The atmosphere was dark and gritty, with a futuristic sci-fi style that leaned toward realism.

The protagonist was a man dressed in black (possibly blond or brown-haired), maybe some kind of agent or police officer. Besides punches and kicks, I think he could also use a handgun.

The character animations had a realistic rotoscoped / motion-captured feel, similar to Time Cop.

The opening stage might have been set in a sewer or warehouse area. I remember lots of wooden crates, and possibly electric gates or barriers as stage hazards.
Below is an AI-generated image based on my memories:

There were also platforming sections where you had to jump across gaps with water or pits below. The level design somewhat reminded me of certain areas in Golden Axe.

I also remember an enemy that looked very similar to one of the machines from Metal Slug 3.

The second stage may have been a cave or laboratory with lava falling from above.

There’s also a chance the game was based on a movie license.

Sorry for the extremely vague description — these memories are from a very long time ago, so a lot of details are blurry. I’m currently 33 years old, and I probably played this around age 10.

This mystery has bothered me for years. Every once in a while I go through huge “all SNES games” videos on YouTube trying to find it. I’ve managed to rediscover every other game from my childhood except this one.

Since I played it on a modified SNES belonging to a relative — one of those systems that could load games from floppy disks — I’ve even started wondering if it wasn’t actually an SNES game at all…

I’d really appreciate any help identifying this game. Thank you so much 🙏
