Blood test appointment

Good news. Just called the central zone blood test, they mentioned they will start to open more slots by next week!

What’s your go-to style and fabric from Uniqlo for work?

I’m petite and trying to build a more semi-professional wardrobe, but still want something comfortable and not too “stiff” or corporate.

I’ve been looking at Uniqlo lately since it seems more affordable than brands like Aritzia, and I like that their pieces are more minimal/basic (kind of like a work uniform vibe).

I’m curious for the Aritzia lovers: do you usually buy items full price, or do you wait for sales?

My wardrobe used to be about 90% Zara/H&M and 10% other brands, but since last year I’ve been trying to slowly switch more of it to Aritzia/Gap because I need to look more semi-professional for work.

I usually check the sale section first and buy from there. Last year during the app sale, I picked up a lot of basics: a Super Puff coat, pants, and other pieces. Now I have plenty of bottoms and winter joggers/sweater, but I’m realizing I don’t really have much for spring/summer.

I’m currently waiting for the next Aritzia sale, but I’m curious: do you think it’s worth buying full price for staple pieces, or is it better to wait?

I had a total thyroidectomy in August 2025 and did radioactive iodine (RAI) this past January. It’s been about 8 months since surgery, and honestly I still don’t feel “stable.”

My levothyroxine dosing has been kind of a journey:

Aug–Oct: 125 mcg
Oct–Dec: 100 mcg
Jan–Feb: 112 mcg
March–now: 137 mcg (Fri–Sun) and 112 mcg (Mon–Thurs)

For the past couple of months, I’ve also been adjusting a bit on my own—like if I feel really low energy or brain fog, I’ll take 137 instead of 112 that day. It feels like I have more control doing that, and I’m not getting the intense hypo/hyper crashes anymore.

But I still have:

brain fog
low energy
just not feeling “normal”

It’s not severe, but it’s definitely still there.

I guess I’m wondering:
Is it normal to still feel this way 8 months out (especially after RAI)?

How long did it take you to actually feel stable?
Will this eventually get better?

Did anyone else feel better “managing” their dose day-to-day, or did things only improve once you stuck to a fixed dose?

Would really appreciate hearing other people’s timelines/experiences.

I’m currently using the Amex Preferred card, which costs me $9.99/month. In 2025, I spent about $49,000 on it based on my annual summary. I also have supplementary cards for my family, so we use it for most household expenses.

I pay the card in full every month, so I’m not paying interest.

I feel like I’m not really maximizing credit card rewards. I only earned around $1,100 in cashback/rewards, which seems low given our total spend.

I’m interested in switching to, or adding, a travel card because I fly at least 3 times per year, including both domestic and international trips. I’d also like to occasionally get airline upgrades or better travel perks. When my family travels, I usually book those trips on my card too.

A few questions:

  1. Is the Amex Cobalt still a good deal in Canada?

  2. Would it make sense to switch from cashback to Membership Rewards/travel points?

  3. What card combination would you recommend for someone with around $49k annual household spend?

  4. Should I keep my current Amex card, replace it, or pair it with a Visa/Mastercard for places that don’t accept Amex?

I pay my credit card in full every month, so it’s not stacking up interest.
