Was Jim Morrison Really a Shaman? (Doors Debate/Discussion)
I Watched that Robby Krieger interview Billy Corbin.
Billy asked if Robby thought Jim was really a shaman and how Robby felt about it was he said it was kind of silly.
I believe Jim truly was a shaman. A shaman is someone who acts as an intermediary between the psychical and non physical. (Human and spiritual realm).
Why I believe Jim was a shaman is because of the way far out there lyrics he was able to come up with some how.
That is one of my favorite reasons why I love the Doors and why I think they are so unique. If they were not far out there I wouldn’t like them as much.
Yes I know Jim was highly intelligent but I don’t think just intelligence could get you a trippy ass song such as moonlight drive, the end, strange days, summers almost gone, waiting for the sun, etc.
Without Jim having make contact with some non physical realm that we cannot access in the ordinary human realm. It is just too alien to have come from our mundane material realm.
I’m not saying that Robby was talking bad about Jim I just was surprised when I heard that. I always believed and will always believe that Jim was a shaman and the proof that I have is the lyrics.
Robby said that Ray kept the whole shaman thing alive because it was Rays whole life. I get what he says but I think that Jim and Ray were closer to the unconscious than Robbie and John.
All of them were channeling some shit that was far out there but Ray and especially Jim had a certain connection to the unconscious.
