Hi everyone,

I’m new here and actually joined to share and get some opinions on something I recently came across.

I acquired a batch of original uniform buttons from the Republic of Biafra (Nigerian Civil War, 1967–1970) as part of an inheritance. From what I understand, these are old factory stock and were never used.

My assumption is that they might have been produced here in Germany on order, but due to the collapse of Biafra, they were never delivered and remained in storage ever since.

I originally had a complete pack, though one piece is now missing. Still, it’s quite fascinating to hold something that was likely made for a country that no longer exists.

I thought this might be interesting for collectors or anyone into lesser-known historical conflicts.

If anyone here is interested in this period of history or in items like these, feel free to send me a PM.

Thanks for having me!
