… here I am. A grown ass man, sobbing over Elise’s sacrifice. Ever since Fates first came out, Elise has been my favorite character. Her design and personality are perfect for the spunky little sister role. When she died in Birthright I told myself I would never play that route again, and I didn’t for 12 years. I only played Conquest and Revelation for every replay. For some reason I decided to play Birthright again and that scene is still gut wrenching. The story is far from perfect in every route, but Fates is such a great FE experience.
