
Castle of Thorns - going public with my vn
Hey everyone!
I started working on this idea a month ago, and to be honest I'm a bit nervous to share it, but I can't develop in a complete vacuum.
It's a linear visual novel with point and click elements, inspired by Ace Attorney, Hotel Dusk and Professor Layton. Though I won't be as demanding on the puzzles and interactive parts as the last one. There will be an option to skip these segments entirely to focus on the story.

The story is going for a gothic/fairy tale kind of feel. It's about a curse, which acts as a narrative puzzle that we solve at the end of the game.
I'm very early in development and a lot will change, but I set up the Steam page as early as I could because I read it's good practice. When I recorded the trailer footage the characters didn't even have names yet.
I'd love any kind of feedback! What do you think of the visuals, concept and tone? Also happy to answer any question about the game. The sprites are pixel art and the backgrounds are pre-rendered graphics. I'm using GameMaker engine.
