Hello all, just wondering whether anyone has duplicated this, or maybe someone with an inside line as to what the recipe actually is ? All answers appreciated.

This is a well used The Paul ii from 96. I haven't personally seen another with a maple board. I posted about it before, and a redditor suggested I contact Gibson about it.

This was their response.

We did some research on this guitar and based on the serial number and specs of the guitar this should of come with a Rosewood fingerboard.

Initially I thought it might of been a power player but those were released way after this guitar. We don't have records that may indicate this guitar was shipped with a factory maple fingerboard.

I have taken it to a few people who told me its definitely a Gibson factory Maple board, something to do with the fret ends. One Luthier said he had seen one before. When I look online at pictures, I only see previous owners of this specific guitar posting.(I see the same dings)

Do I have a unicorn, or at least something very rare ? Opinions ?
