Hi all,
I am currently 35w pregnant and my mother was supposed to be travelling in a week to stay with me and care for me and baby.
She got diagnosed with shingles 2 days ago and started the antiviral, but it has been about 7 days since the rashes appeared and is already crusting over.
I have sent in a message to my OB, and awaiting their response. In the meanwhile, I was wondering if it would be safe for me to have her over starting next week ? And if not, till how long after the rash subsides is it advisable for me to stay away ?
Has anyone been through anything similar ?
Rescheduling airline tickets at this time seems to be a nightmare given the costs. We will lose everything we paid plus rebooking to later costs 3 times the flight we already have for next week ..
