I put a booking deposit on a new build and was planning my move there. Before contracts were issued, I had some questions for the developer. It's a semi-D so I asked for party wall specifications. Developer came back saying "within regulations". I asked for the actual specifications. Developer provided a drawing showing specs but some information was missing. I asked for clarification on that and the Developer told the agent to give me my deposit back. Is this normal? That builders won't answer questions properly because they have so much demand? I tried to get them to turn it around but they refused. Not wanting to sell me the house because I wanted information about the party wall.
I think it's an awful way to treat an Irish person struggling to get on the housing ladder who just wanted to have basic information about the property before pouring his life savings into it and taking out a big mortgage.
