Can someone explain the shared care process for ADHD meds in the UK like I’m five 😭

I recently got diagnosed privately and I’m currently waiting for my prescription/titration stuff to start, but I’m honestly confused about how shared care works in practice??

From what I understand, the private clinic handles medication initially and then eventually your GP might agree to take over prescriptions through shared care? But I keep seeing mixed things online about GPs refusing it depending on the area/clinic.

I went with Indra Clinic because it was way more affordable than most places I looked at (£750 including assessment + follow-up), but now I’m overthinking the next stage and whether I’ll end up paying privately forever for medication??

I know it can be different for everyone, but I'd really appreciate hearing how the process worked for other people.

In honour of his 100th Birthday - i'm having David Attenbourough narrate this mornings meditation 🙏

If you didn’t know, David Attenborough actually recorded a 10-minute meditation back in 2021 alongside Dr Sheila Popert — a palliative medicine consultant who uses VR to help patients manage symptoms.

I randomly discovered it through Indra (a clinic Dr Sheila co-founded), but there’s also a YouTube upload here because honestly more people deserve to know this exists!! :
