So I'm not much of a barista. I'm a roaster spending time roasting back of house at a new cafe and the baristas (owners of business) exclusively use urnex cafe wipz for all front of house cleaning. Sometimes I'll help out front and find there is no sanitizer bucket, no towels. Only cafe wipz to clean the steam wand (not that they typically do that between drinks), countertops, and tables. And they told me its very common and that I'm being weird by suggesting that we should (need) to have a sanitizer tub and actually sanitizer the equipment regularly as the wipz don't do that and to just use the wipz.
I haven't spent much time doing barista work so I guess i don't know, but it seems odd. Is using these funky little wipz like this common? It seems to possibly be a food service/health code violation?
Actual baristas please weigh in!
