Best way to attach bamboo limbs/billets to a grip/riser?

Recently got some old bamboo that I want to experiment around with, only problem is that it's a ~1m piece split right down the middle (was already half-split by the time I got it). So now the idea is to use those halves as limbs, but I have no idea how to attach them to a handle in a way that won't snap or split the bamboo further. Any good ideas or is making those limbs a futile attempt?

Wood came from a column yew that had to go, this was the longest usable stave on the plant. The kink in the lower limb is not the result of set, it already had that shape on the tree.

Tillering wasn't easy (and is probably still not perfect) due to branches running along the wood before emerging at a shallow angle, and I'll have to watch out for compression fractures, but for now it's functional.

I'm currently trying to make tip overlays (from boxwood) for a shortbow and have no idea how to get the surfaces aligned enough to glue it on, since the back of the bow isn't exactly flat.

Is there any special trick to it? Risk violating the back to make both completely flat? Just suffer through hours with a small scraper? Try using a dremel?

Thanks for any help in advance
