My 9 year old started the school year with friends in class and playing with kids in the neighborhood. Now he makes no effort to go outside and play with the neighbor kids. He has had issues with one in particular and since then he avoids all of the kids since they group together. Now he’s told me the two friends he’s been close with in class all year aren’t his friends anymore. He mentioned the counselor is supposed to sit down with the three of them soon. I’m not sure exactly what happened but in his version he said they argued over always doing what the other wants to do and that this happened a couple weeks ago. It’s honestly breaking my heart to think he’s not socializing with anymore his age and spending all his time alone. His social struggles have never seemed so isolating. Has anyone been through this and have so hopeful advice?

My 9 year old has been on clonodine ER 0.1 for a month and has been doing well. We recently saw his NP Psych and he wanted to increase to the 0.17 dose. Well insurance didn’t cover it and the cost is outrageous. The office told me they were going to do a PA so I asked for his regular dose while that’s being addressed.
Tonight I went to give him the medicine and noticed it looked different. They gave him 0.1 IR to be taken once at night. Obviously I will be calling in the morning but from my understanding the IR is supposed to be taken twice a day. I’m worried we’re in for a rough day and weekend with this version wearing off so quickly. I’m hoping I’m overthinking this and some do well on one IR dose and I can be done playing phone tag with the office and pharmacy.
He also takes Concerta 27mg but we take breaks on the weekends.
