Please help me make sense of what just happened to my foot.
I am a 31 male who has been fairly active most of my life. I go to the gym 4-5 days a week and my workouts are mostly composed of strength training and occasional walks on the treadmill.
I recently decided to start incorporating running in my routine since I could never run a single mile without feeling like dying and part of me thinks I would really enjoy running regularly.
I ran for the first time ever on a Monday for 2 miles in 20 minutes and 13 seconds (I was shocked). Tuesday I went to the gym and did an upper body workout. Wednesday I was at the gym again and did a lower body workout, later that afternoon I decided to go on another run since I enjoyed the first one. My big toe felt funny the next day but no pain at all so I figured it was just something that would go away. However, the next day it was so much worse. My foot felt this sharp pain with every step I took and it’s been 4 days now of this. The area that hurts is at the bottom of my toe right where my big toe ends and foot starts (if that makes sense).
I’m extremely worried and stressed because now my whole gym routine is out of wack because of this and I also really enjoyed running and it sucks that I had to stop after my first 2 runs.
Does anyone have any suggestions or has experienced something similar? My first run was in adidas EVO SL and I returned them because I didn’t like them. My second run was in Nike Vomero 18.
I don’t have health insurance so I’m hoping this is something I can recover from on my own before I go and spend money on a doctor visit.
Thank you
