His name is Fate, he’s an abandoned royal who ended up in the Everfree with nothing to lose. After following a luminescent blue fox through the Everfree he fell into a cascading waterfall, but he got back to dry land and then after going through some suspicious foliage, he found a Glade.

In this Glade, everything was calm, peaceful, and beautiful, and predators and prey were co-existing, even helping each other. As Fate went further into the Glade he found a tree, one that had shimmering blue bark and was absolutely STUNNING, just like the tree of harmony but it wasn’t held down by the weight of expectation (The symbolism on that is crazy). It even had gems hanging from the branches.

Behind the Gemstone Tree, there was a big cave, and by the entrance of the cave, there was a boulder with carved writing in it, the writing stated “Queen of The Glade - Ember”, and below it, it said “No ponies allowed” (Considering ponies are the equivalent to humans here).

Fate, being just a little foal, ventured into the cave anyways, and here he saw an absolutely GARGANTUAN female dragon, this dragon was Ember, the queen of this beautiful Glade. She had obsidian scales, with lava-like energy emanating from the gaps of the scales, and her body was bruised and battered from war. She was slumbering peacefully.

Then as Fate got close to her, he felt a sense of sleepiness, he was exhausted from his time on the streets and in the Everfree. He fell asleep right next to Ember, and her wing instinctively wrapped around him like a huge blanket of warmth.

I’m still working out the story and whatnot, but Ember’s backstory is basically that she fought in a war long ago, but instead of siding with Ponies, or dragons, she sided with the innocent forest creatures, and now she has a target on her back the size of Manehattan, no matter where she goes, so she slumbers in the cave and rules over the glade peacefully.

I know that the dragon lord in the show’s name is also “Ember”, but this Ember is much older, like centuries older, the Ember in Fate’s story was alive even before dragon lord Ember’s dad was even born. Eventually what happens in the story, is that Ember becomes Fate’s foster mother, and knowing his mother is near the end of her life, he takes training from her, not just to defend the Glade, but the misunderstood Everfree, and if Ember is the Queen of the Glade, then Fate is “The Prince of The Everfree”.

I finally finished drawing him, and I’ve got SO MANY ideas for stories!
