The process
I was approved for Disability in March,it took until Last week for social security to receive the approval from the judge. My perc appointment is set for May 21st, almost 60 days from when I was approved. Yesterday I called the local social security office to see if my perc appointment can be moved up. I acknowledged my disability and stopped working July of 2024..I lost my career a month later,then my pets,then my home and then my mind. I was homeless from October 24 to January 26. I didnt ask for,or want my disability. I had a career,life...etc. It's been a daunting process to get approved. In January I moved into public ADA housing which has been amazing. But I'm now about to get my utilities shut off,and I just really need the money. The only clothes I've had since October '24 were either from the porch of the homeless shelter or a church. I just need to rant because yesterday when I called the office to see if my perc appointment can be moved up based on financial emergency the lady I was speaking to laughed,like literally chuckled to me and said that everyone was busy and the appointment cannot be moved up. And then said "Every case is a financial emergency". I was just dumbfounded at her composure and needed to vent.
