I have a 2016 platinum Murano with 194k miles on it. She’s getting a little rough and tired so I’ve been on the lookout and decided on a pathfinder. I would like a 2026 because I like the new grill but figured I have some time with my Murano and gonna stretch it as long as possible.

I reached out to a dealership a few weeks ago about a premium SL trying to get an OTD price and now of course I’m on their email stalking list. Here are the messages from today:

Him: i’m doing a quick follow up to see if you’re still in the market for a vehicle? We have some great deals going on and I would hate for you to miss out!

Me: hi there, I am waiting for the prices of the 2026’s to go down.

Him: this week is the best time… It’s month-end an extra dealer cash… They are the lowest ever been… What’s the price range you are looking for?

Me: Trying to be in low 40’s out the door. And I like the premium SL or platinum so I’m gonna have to wait a little longer.

Him: if I sell you a platinum all-wheel-drive at low $40K out the door would you buy before Friday? Last day of the month is Thursday…

Me: No, not before Friday.

Him: so if I honor it for Friday, will you buy?

Me: No, not this week.

I should maybe be in the sub FDealerships bc I hate dealing with them. Do you think I am correct in assuming that he is full of shit with this and I would be sitting at the dealership for hours and certainly not be out the door in the low 40s? This week is really not a good time and like I said, I would love to get every inch out of my Murano that is paid off.
