I think we all know the meme about the premise "I could fix them" — "But I could make them worse". So I'm asking you all to tell me about the time you wrote a fic and made the character worse than they initially were, or let them suffer in a pathetic way, or had them do something completely unhinged? Or when did you last read about it and thoroughly enjoyed it?

I'm currently writing/finishing a fic where a person with horrible world views gets to suffer because his actions finally have consequences. He's miserable, he's suffering and definitely in a worse situation than ever before and it's so much fun writing that!
