Hi everyone,

I’m currently running macOS on my system and wanted some advice on choosing the most stable macOS version for my hardware.

💻 My System:

  • CPU: Intel i5-10400 (Comet Lake, 10th Gen)
  • iGPU: Intel UHD 630
  • Motherboard: Supports 10th/11th Gen CPUs
  • RAM: 16GB
  • Storage: NVMe SSD

🎯 My Goal:

I want a stable, smooth and fully compatible macOS version, not necessarily the latest. Stability and fewer bugs are my priority.

🤔 Questions:

  1. Which macOS version works best with Comet Lake + UHD 630?
  2. Is newer macOS (like Sequoia) stable enough, or should I downgrade?
  3. Which version gives best:
    • iGPU performance
    • HDMI/display compatibility
    • Overall smooth experience

📌 Current Situation:

  • Currently using macOS Sequoia
  • Everything works mostly fine (QE/CI, audio, etc.)
  • But facing some minor issues (refresh rate / boot lag)

🙏 Looking for suggestions from experienced users

Which macOS version would you recommend for daily use stability on this setup?

Thanks in advance 🙌

Hi everyone,

I’ve successfully set up my Hackintosh and almost everything is working perfectly now:

  • Intel UHD 630 (1536MB, QE/CI enabled)
  • Audio working (alcid=11)
  • System stable

However, I have one issue:

My monitor supports 100Hz (BenQ GW2790), but macOS only shows 60Hz. I am currently using HDMI.

System:

  • CPU: i5 10400 (Comet Lake)
  • iGPU: UHD 630
  • SMBIOS: iMac20,1
  • OpenCore: 0.8.8
  • Followed Dortania guide

Note: In System Info / Hackintool, CPU generation shows as Coffee Lake, but my CPU is Comet Lake. I believe this is due to SMBIOS.

Things I tried:

  • Option + Scaled (no additional refresh rates)
  • Different resolutions

Question: Is this due to HDMI limitation on macOS, or do I need EDID injection / framebuffer patch?

Any help would be appreciated 🙏

Hello everyone,

I am facing an issue with Intel UHD 630 on macOS Sequoia (15.7.5).

My system:

- CPU: Intel i5-10400

- iGPU: UHD 630 (Comet Lake)

- RAM: 16GB

- Motherboard: MSI H510M (MS-7E05)

- Bootloader: OpenCore 0.8.8

- SMBIOS: iMac20,1

Problem:

- GPU shows only 7MB VRAM

- Metal: Not supported

- Hackintool shows framebuffer as 0xFFFFFFFF

- No hardware acceleration

If I use:

-igfxvesa

System boots with display (7MB VRAM)

If I remove it:

→ Black screen after boot

What I tried:

- AAPL,ig-platform-id = 07009B3E and 00009B3E

- framebuffer-patch-enable

- framebuffer-stolenmem = 00003001

- framebuffer-fbmem = 00009000

- Tried con0 / con1 HDMI patches

- Reset NVRAM multiple times

Still same issue.

HDMI is being used (no DisplayPort)

Request:

Can someone guide correct framebuffer or HDMI patch for UHD 630 on Comet Lake?

Thanks in advance 🙏
