Diamox not helping visual changes - advice wanted

Hi all - I could use some advice before a neuro follow up tomorrow. I was diagnosed with IIH last month after I went to the Eye ED for sudden changes to my vision. I had been on Topomax for an unrelated condition and tapered off that to switch meds since I didn’t like how it made me feel (brain fog). When I tapered is when my vision symptoms started. They did an MRI and found evidence of IIH bc of the narrowing of veins in my neck.

The neurologist put me on Diamox. I started not to feel well and went to the ED and was admitted for an angiogram and LP. LP showed normal pressure, attributed to the medicine working, and angiogram found I wasn’t a candidate for a stent.

They upped my dose of Diamox and my symptoms got worse. My affect changed and I now get glazed over. My speech is different (slower, odd cadence). Reducing the Diamox helped but didn’t alleviate symptoms.

Through all of it, my vision has still been blurry which is really concerning to me. My scans showed no pressure on the optic nerve for ophthalmology doesn’t think it’s related to the IIH. They said my eyes were really dry and to try eye drops which hasn’t really helped.

I’m starting to wonder if I was misdiagnosed. The vision issues were my only issue before being diagnosed. I didn’t have headaches or high blood pressure.

What would you do next? Stop the Diamox? Try the topamax again? Talk about different diagnoses?
