Heightened ADHD symptoms after quitting smoking
Since quitting smoking 3 months ago, I now believe that smoking IS in fact self medication for people with ADHD like me. Don’t get me wrong, I’m SO happy that I’ve quit but the side effects are so annoying.
Seriously, I just cannot stop looking for new sources of dopamine: scrolling TikTok for hours, eating all the time, procrastinating work.
And on top of that I cannot seem to fall asleep like I used to. I’m constantly overthinking and my brain is more awake.
It normally didn’t affect my life as much as it does now and I hate it.
Anyone else experiencing this? And what can I do about it? 🥺
