I’m currently renting a flat and unfortunately need some repair work done on my shower, which might take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. I’m therefore looking for alternative places to shower in the meantime.
I do have a few options in mind, but I’m feeling quite anxious about it - I’m autistic, hygiene is really important to me, and I’ve never used public shower facilities before, so the uncertainty is a bit overwhelming atm.
I was wondering if anyone has experience with the following places, particularly regarding things like private shower cubicles (with locked doors) or access to hairdryers (I’ll be bringing my own toiletries and towel):
- The Royal Commonwealth Pool: I know I can pay to use their shower facilities (my letting agency is also happy to cover a membership), but I’m not sure whether they have private cubicles. Has anyone used them before?
- PureGym Quartermile: I assume I could get a membership to use their showers as well - does anyone have experience with them?
I live near the Meadows, so I’d prefer somewhere nearby if possible. I’m of course happy to pay; I’d just really value having a clean and reasonably private space to shower. Also I'm very open to other suggestions if you have any!
