I locked in a 7.1% mortgage back in 2022 and honestly just kept putting off refinancing because I assumed it wouldn’t make a huge difference.
I finally looked into it properly recently and now I’m thinking that might’ve been a mistake.
Rough math looks like I could save a couple hundred a month depending on the rate, but I’m still trying to understand if it’s worth doing right now or waiting.
My credit score is in the high 600s at the moment, so part of me is wondering if I should try to push it above 700 first before applying.
For people who’ve refinanced recently—did your credit score make a big difference in the rate you got? Or were other things more important?
