Day 22 of becoming fluent in English

Some common mistakes many peoples make while speaking English (including me):

- Using “revert back” instead of just “revert”

- Saying “myself Peace” instead of “I’m Peace”

- Overusing “only” and “itself”

-> “I told you only”

- Translating directly from native language

- Saying “passed out” for graduation

- Using present tense for everything

- Saying “discuss about” instead of “discuss”

- Confusing “do” and “make”

- Being too afraid of making mistakes while speaking

Still improving day by day.

Day 21

Feeling a little better today after the yesterday's breakup. Still caught myself thinking about the same person again and checking their Instagram.

But today I also read a little about adaptability and acceptance. Maybe life was never meant to be perfect all the time.

  • It should be great for my Reddit about❌ -> It would be great for my Reddit bio ✅

For last few days, I had been keeping my post very short due to my exams.

Today was a very lazy day. I wake up late in the morning and since then I haven't done anything productive work. I had been scrolling randomly on social media since morning. To be honest I don't know what I was looking in social media because I don't remember any of the post on social media that what I did. I was just only scrolling and switching apps, that's the only thing I know, lol. I realised that my mind was out of control. The reason could be I got tired from my exams preparation.

When I thought to write a today's post little bit longer than my previous few posts. But I don't get any topic to write about so I'm writing this post to keep my streak alive and want to share a bit about my life.

If you have read this far and noticed any grammar or sentence structure mistakes, please feel free to comment. I genuinely want to improve.

Thank you!

Still in exam mode. Not much to share today except a little bit learning which I did apart from my exam preparation.

Today I learned about adaptability. In today's digital world, things are quickly changed for that Its very important for us to adapt the new skills quickly. I learned that for learning new skills, first we need to develop the mindset. After that we start to learn new skills without any fear based on our requirement (Here I mean that based on our jobs or business).

Being adaptable person is the most important skills in this today's era.

Today I started my day with a cup of tea. Then I started my study session, it was about for 3 hours. After my study session, I had to call to my friend regarding my assignments submission; Because currently I'm at my house and my university is about 250km far away. I gave him my assignments to him before leaving city-where my university is located.

I had given my assignments 10 days ago to him. I said him to submit on saturday. I had blindly trust on him that he never disappoint to me, but unfortunately he did. I called him on saturday 5 times but he did not pick up any of my call or revert back to me. I thought he might be very busy or in important work, but as I had blindly trust on him, so I was just expected atleast a text message from him after 5 missed call.

Today I called him again, after the 4 called, he finally texted me that he will call me back in 5 mins. During that time I was preparing myself for focusing on what I should talk to him, because he already missed the assignment deadline and now I don't have any control of past so I was continuously thinking about focusing on what can be controlled. After that he called me after 15 mins, and I talk about that just go to the university and tell the professor to guide regarding assignments, and If they're still accepting then give it to him. And Finally I explained all the things which are important for assignments submission.

He called me after 2 hours that the assignments were submitted, and I finally feel relaxed. I don't know still that what happened to him, because I didn't say anything or talk to him in angry way but he didn't talk to me properly on last call. I tried to understand him but he didn't share anything. Maybe he was tired. I don't know.

Sometimes we don't get proper answer or something always remain mystery because we can't see the other person situation. I guess this is called life. This is the bit about my day.

I just got back from the ground after playing cricket with my nieces, and it made me realize that I genuinely enjoy sports but due to my studies I never get the time to play any sports.

I think, everyone should have some hobbies which help us to make physically and mentally strong, and boost our confidence.

In today's digital world, It's very important for us to go out and do some physically active like walk, sports, running, etc., which help our body to stay active.

If I talk about students or people who work or study 8-9 hours for them it's very important to have some outdoor hobbies because it help us to understand that life is not only about complete with our classmates, or the job/work which we do in our daily life, Life is more beyond that. I guess It's an adventure, we should try to enjoy each and every moments of our life. (I also believe that study and work are also very important for our life, and we should try to find some intrest on them)

By the way I really enjoy to play cricket with my nieces. At the end, I think each and every person has different views of life based on their environment, past experiences and present moment.

Today I watched a video by Sandeep Das, (He's an Indian YouTuber and the author of best selling book, about mastering communication skills.

The one idea which he mentioned on his video, It's really stood out to me : 80% of your career depends on communication skills, and 20% on your technical skills.

Here are a few things I learned :

  • Listen more than you speak
  • Keep your communication skills simple
  • Structure your thoughts clearly
  • Asked the question instead of assuming
  • Use a story to make your message memorable

He also mentioned that communication is not just only speaking, It also include body language and clarity.

From now on, I will try to :

  • Use simple sentences
  • Listen more carefully
  • avoid over-explaining

If you have any more idea about communication skills, feel free to share it on comment section.

Here are some mistakes which I made in yesterday post, and I learned from it.

  1. I started study -> I started studying (After start/begin, verb + img)

  2. I studied around 5 hours continuously without any break -> I studied for about 5 hours without a break ( for + duration)

  3. Rest of two boxes -> The other two boxes (Countable : use number, Uncountable : use rest of )

If you spot any mistakes in today's post, please let me know in the comments. I really appreciate the corrections, they are exactly why I am doing this publicly.

Thank you! :)

Today I woke up at 6:00 AM. After finishing my daily chores and breakfast, I started to study (because I have the exam on May month). I studied around 5 hours continuously without any break, and felt proud about myself.

Some relatives visited to my house in afternoon time. So I stopped my study session and spent some time with them. Everything was going so smoothly until I needed to get back to Ice-cream shop for return the rest of two boxes of Ice-cream (each box contains 8 items of sub Ice-cream boxes). So I went to the shop and I said to shopkeeper that I have to return these boxes and we didn't open it. First the shopkeeper denied at all and said we don't have return policy (The duration between bought and returned was only 30 mins), you had to purchase based on your requirement. I politely said to him that, we had a total 30 relatives that's why I purchased a lot but they already had a full with lunch so many relatives didn't have space in their stomach for it (When I purchased I wasn't not aware of it). I tried to convince him almost 5 mins that we don't need this ice-cream and we don't like the test of this ice-cream otherwise we can still keep in refrigerator for us.

After that somehow I convinced him for return and he made sit me around 30-40 mins because he had some other customers. (He could've just given my money back in 10 seconds but he didn't). After he started again to say whatever comes in his mind like we don't accept, and some others related things. He repeated same things almost 10 times. But in 3-4 mins I realised that, It doesn't make sense to arguing with him. So I just tried to act like I was listening to him but I wasn't. Then he gave my money back with 20% cutt from the original price which I paid to him. The environment was very hot at that time (around 43°C temperature) I didn't want to argue with him that's why I didn't raise any questions. It was my day, If you wanna share about your day, feel free to comment on this post.
