I couldn’t find a lot of reviews on this tent online, what do you all think? Does anyone here have it?
This would be for two beginner (first time) campers.

Hi all,
I’ve never been camping before, but I love hiking, road trips, and being out in nature. It feels like camping is the next step for me.
My fiancé and I are thinking about doing our first camping trip at Big Bend in a few weeks (late May or early June). We’re planning to stay just one night since we want to try it first and then hopefully do longer trips in the future.
I had a few questions for those with experience there:
- Any advice for first-time campers at Big Bend?
- Best campground recommendations?
- Favorite hikes or must-see spots?
- Any tips for enjoying the dark sky / stargazing? That’s probably what I’m most excited for.
Also, since we don’t own camping gear yet, I’ll be buying everything from scratch. I’d rather spend a little more upfront on quality gear that will last a few years instead of buying twice. Any recommendations for:
- Tent / sleeping setup for two people
- General beginner essentials
- Coffee setup for camp (I’m a big coffee drinker, so this is important 😂)
Lastly, I’m also into biking and we have two mountain bikes. Is Big Bend good for biking, and if so, any trail recommendations?
Thanks in advance! Really excited (and a little nervous) for our first camping trip.
Edit: I live about 5 hours from Big Bend, which is why I’m considering it for a first camping trip. It seems close enough for a one-night trial run while still feeling like a real adventure.
