I’m 25M and genuinely confused/stressed about how people afford weddings in Tier-1 cities.

Costs I’m seeing:

- Catering: ₹1000+ per plate

- Gold/jewellery: skyrocketing

- Venue + decor

- Clothes (bride/groom)

- Photography, DJ, etc.

- Honeymoon

Even with 4–5 years of working, it feels impossible to save enough without either:

  1. Taking financial help from family, or

  2. Cutting down heavily on the wedding

People who recently got married:

- How did you manage finances?

- Did you save specifically for it or just adjust last minute?

- What % came from you vs family?

- Did anyone take loans for weddings?

Trying to understand what’s realistic vs what we see socially.

Would appreciate honest answers.
