Someone posted recently in a Facebook group that they saw Dr. Herbst and she mentioned that people with lipedema have either predominantly lymph symptoms or predominantly nodule issues, and that the treatment is different for each. For example, if you have more lymphatic issues, you should focus on MLD, but if you have predominantly nodules, the treatment is more fascial work (eg gua sha/graston).

I am wondering if anyone here has seen Dr. Herbst and heard the same thing, and if you could share any other information about this recommendation.

I am very curious because I definitely have more of the nodule presentation (have had nodules for 20 years but only started having minor swelling in the past couple of years). I am starting twice weekly MLD next week, but I am not convinced that it will do much for me. If there is a more tailored treatment, I would rather spend my time doing that.
